Off-Broadway News Rob McClure Is Suddenly Seymour in Off-Broadway's Little Shop of Horrors Beginning July 12

The two-time Tony nominee joins the Howard Ashman-Alan Menken musical at the Westside Theatre.

Rob McClure takes over as Seymour in Off-Broadway's Little Shop of Horrors beginning July 12. McClure succeeds Skylar Astin, who cut his time with the production short to begin filming CBS' So Help Me Todd July 3. Understudy Evan Alexander Smith filled in as the amateur botanist July 5–10.

McClure, Tony-nominated for his performance in the title role of the recently closed Mrs. Doubtfire, was also Tony-nominated for his 2013 performance in the title role of Chaplin. He has also appeared on the Main Stem in I'm Not Rappaport, Avenue Q, Honeymoon in Vegas, Something Rotten!, Noises Off, and Beetlejuice.

He joins a cast that includes Tammy Blanchard as Audrey, Tony winner Christian Borle as Orin Scrivello, Stuart Zagnit as Mushnik, Aaron Arnell Harrington as The Voice of Audrey II, Khalifa White as Ronnette, Cristina Raé as Crystal, Khadija Sankoh as Chiffon, Eric Wright, Teddy Yudain, Josh Daniel, Michael Iannucci, and Chelsea Turbin.

The Off-Broadway revival resumed its run September 21, 2021, after temporarily closing in March 2020 due to the pandemic.

The revival, directed by Tony winner Michael Mayer, opened in October 2019. The creative team for the Howard Ashman-Alan Menken musical also includes choreographer Ellenore Scott, scenic designer Julian Crouch, lighting designer Bradley King, costume designer Tom Broecker, sound designer Jessica Paz, puppet designer Nicholas Mahon, original puppet designer Martin P. Robinson, hair and makeup designer Tommy Kurzman, music supervisor, orchestrator, and arranger Will Van Dyke, and casting director Jim Carnahan. Puppets are by Monkey Boys Productions.

General management is by Live Wire Theatrical/Chris Aniello, and production stage management is by Ryan Gohsman.
