Auburn is the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of Proof. He has also won Drama Desk, Tony, Lucille Lortel and New York Drama Critics Circle awards for his work. Auburn has been awarded the Helen Merrill Playwriting Award and a Guggenheim Fellowship. He received the Keserling Prize in 2000 for Proof.
