Broadway, television, and film producer Neil Meron has joined Andrew Lloyd Webber's London-based Really Useful Group as North American consultant. Meron, currently represented on Broadway with 2023 Best Musical Tony Award nominee Some Like It Hot, will work to develop new opportunities for Lloyd Webber's musicals across North America in a variety of mediums, including film and streaming. He'll also work closely with the recently formed Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals to support its North American endeavors.

Meron has spent the vast majority of his producing career bringing theatrical works to the screen, notably including the Brandy and Whitney Houston-led Cinderella, NBC's live musicals (which include a 2018 broadcast of Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar), the movie-musical adaptations of Chicago and Hairspray, and the NBC series Smash. He's produced Promises, PromisesHow to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying; and Some Like It Hot for Broadway, and is currently bringing a stage adaptation of Smash to the Main Stem as well. Much of Meron's work was produced in partnership with the late Craig Zadan, who passed away suddenly in 2018.

“It is a thrill to be collaborating with Andrew again as I look for new ways to expand his already considerable impact on the world," says Meron in a statement. "He is a born boundary-pusher, whether he’s generating new work or reinventing his remarkable library of classic titles. I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this next chapter of this legendary artist.”

"Neil and I go back a very, very long way, so it feels quite fitting that he take on this advisory role at RUG at this point in my career, in which I want to explore new avenues for my music," adds Lloyd Webber. "He is the perfect person to open new doors for me and my team, and I am very excited to get to work.”
