Nashville artists will be featured on Junie B. Jones The Musical Cast Album, a first-ever recording of the family-friendly musical by award-winning songwriters Zina Goldrich and Marcy Heisler.

Recorded in Nashville under the direction of Grammy-winning producer Dan Rudin, Junie B. Jones will be released January 13, 2017, via all digital retailers (iTunes, Amazon, and more) and streaming services (Spotify, Pandor, and more).

The cast for the 30-minute recording includes Lori Casteel in the title role with Ericka Aubrey, Scott Baker, Galen Fott, Sarah Bailey, Shelean Newman, David Wise, Chris Lee, Emily Webb, Garris Wimmer, and Shane McConnell.

Junie B. Jones The Musical, which was originally produced Off-Broadway by Theatreworks USA, was adapted from four of Barbara Park's Junie B. Jones books by Heisler (book/lyrics) and Goldrich (music), who worked closely with the author.

“Join the beloved Junie B. Jones and a quirky, wonderful cast of characters as they sing and dance their way through this original family musical,” according to press notes. “It's a new school year, with a whole lot of adventures in store. New friends, new glasses, singing lunch ladies, bossy classmates, kickball tournaments, and juggling biscuits are just the beginning of the lessons learned -- much more than what fits on the chalkboard or could fill a ’Top-Secret Personal Beeswax’ journal.”

Song titles include “Top Secret Personal Beeswax,” “Writing Down the Story of My Life,” “Gladys Gutzman, Queen of Snacks,” “When Life Gives You Lemons,” “Lunch Box,” and more.

The Goldrich and Heisler musical Ever After, which had its world premiere at the Paper Mill Playhouse last year, is Broadway-bound. That show is being produced by Kevin McCollum and his company Alchemation. The songwriters are also currently writing the music for Hollywood Romance, which will be produced on Broadway by Scott Sanders Productions. The book is by Jen Crittenden and Gabrielle Allen, and the show will be directed by Kristin Hanggi. A third Goldrich and Heisler project is a musical adaptation of a Universal Studios romantic classic for Universal Stage Productions. Dates have yet to be announced for these upcoming projects.
