Off-Broadway News Max Wolf Friedlich's JOB Will Have Extended Run at Off-Broadway's SoHo Playhouse

The play was named the winner of the Playhouse's inaugural Lighthouse Series competition.

Max Wolf Friedlich's JOB, winner of the 2021 Lighthouse Series, will play an extended run at the SoHo Playhouse in 2023.

Michael Herwitz will direct. Casting will be announced at a later date.

Developed by producer-dramaturg Hannah Getts, the play follows a therapy session in the Bay Area that devolves into something far more strange and consequential for the world.

Originally written as part of IAMA Theatre Company's emerging writer's group, JOB was the winner of the inaugural SoHo Playhouse Lighthouse Series. That production starred Alex O’Shea and Tim Barker.

Friedlich’s plays have been developed, staged, and produced at NY International Fringe, The Kraine, Wesleyan University, Access Theater, Sarah Lawrence College, IRT, Arizona State University, The Blank Theater, Northwestern University, Pasadena Playhouse, Ithaca College, Bowery Poetry Club, and SoHo Playhouse. He was a member of the IAMA Theater emerging writers lab, a writer-in-residence at NYSAF’s Powerhouse Theater, and in January 2023 will be in residence at the Silver Sun Foundation in Woodstock, NY.
