News London's National Confirms New Productions of Amadeus and Peter Pan David Hare will also premiere a new play and revive an old one.

Performance dates have been confirmed for new productions that will play at London's National Theatre in the summer and fall, including a new production of Peter Shaffer's Amadeus, the world premiere of David Hare's The Red Barn, and transfers to London for Peter Pan (co-produced with Bristol Old Vic), Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour (a co-production of the National Theatre of Scotland and Newcastle's Live Theatre) and A Pacifist’s Guide to the War on Cancer (a Complicite Associates co-production with the National Theatre, in association with HOME Manchester).

Amadeus, which received its world premiere at the National in 1979, is to return to the National, beginning performances October 19 prior to an official opening October 26. Michael Longhurst directs a cast that will be led by Lucian Msamati as Salieri, who was recently seen at the National in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. The production will feature live orchestral accompaniment by Southbank Sinfonia. It is designed by Chloe Lamford, with music direction and additional music by Simon Slater, choreography by Imogen Knight, lighting by Jon Clark and sound by Paul Arditti.

The Red Barn, a new play by David Hare, based on Georges Simenon's novel, La Main, will begin performances in the Lyttelton Theatre October 6, prior to an official opening October 17. Produced in association with Scott Rudin, it will be directed by Robert Icke, with design by Bunny Christie, lighting by Paule Constable, video design by Tim Reid and sound by Tom Gibbons. Another Hare play Stuff Happens, which premiered at the National in 2004, will be staged by the playwright in a rehearsed reading for one performance only July 6. The play, which is about the diplomatic process that led to the invasion of Iraq, is being revived to mark the publication of the Chilcot Inquiry's report.

Peter Pan, which will begin performances November 16 prior to an official opening November 23, comes to the National after a sell-out run at Bristol Old Vic. The cast of Sally Cookson's production includes Saikat Ahamed, Suzanne Ahmet, Marc Antolin, Lois Chimimba, Laura Cubitt, Phoebe Fildes, Felix Hayes, Paul Hilton, John Leader, Amaka Okafor, John Pfumojena, Jessica Temple, Sophie Thompson, Dan Wheeler and Madeleine Worrall.

Devised by the company, dramaturgy is by Mike Akers, with set design by Michael Vale, costume design by Katie Sykes, lighting by Aideen Malone, music by Benji Bower, sound design by Dominic Bilkey, movement by Dan Canham, aerial direction by Gwen Hales, fight direction by Rachel Bown-Williams and Ruth Cooper-Brown of RC-ANNIE Ltd. and puppet direction and design by Toby Olié.

Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour, adapted by Lee Hall from the novel The Sopranos by Alan Warner, will receive its London premiere in the Dorfman Theatre, beginning performances August 8 prior to an official opening August 10 for a run through October 1. Directed by Vicky Featherstone, it had its premiere at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 2015, and enjoyed a successful sell-out run at the Traverse Theatre before embarking on a national tour. The full cast includes Melissa Allan, Caroline Deyga, Kirsty Findlay, Karen Fishwick, Joanne McGuiness, Kirsty MacLaren, Frances Mayli McCann and Dawn Sievewright with musicians Amy Shackcloth, Laura Bangay, Becky Brass and Emily Linden. Music arrangements and supervision are by Martin Lowe with design by Chloe Lamford, lighting design by Lizzie Powell and choreography by Imogen Knight. It is co-produced by National Theatre of Scotland and Live Theatre.

A Pacifist's Guide to the War on Cancer, which begins performances October 14 in the Dorfman Theatre prior to an official opening October 19 for a run through November 29, is a Complicite Associates co-production with the NT, in association with HOME Manchester, where it plays first from September 20-24 and then visits Exeter's Northcott Theatre September 28-October 2.

Directed by Bryony Kimmings, who has also written the lyrics and co-written the book with Brian Lobel, it has music by Tom Parkinson. The cast includes Naana Agyei-Ampadu, Amy Booth-Steel, Hal Fowler, Amanda Hadingue, Golda Rosheuvel and Gareth Snook. Set designs are by Lucy Osborne with costume design by Christina Cunningham, choreography by Lizzi Gee, music direction by Marc Tritschler, lighting design by Paul Anderson and sound design by Lewis Gibson.
