Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts celebrates 60 years of artistic excellence and community with a free block party May 4 from 10 AM to 2:30 PM on Lincoln Center’s Upper West Side plaza.

The day will feature activities, performances, and art-making by the organizations that comprise Lincoln Center: The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Film Society of Lincoln Center, Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Juilliard School, Lincoln Center Theater, The Metropolitan Opera, New York City Ballet, New York Philharmonic, The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, School of American Ballet, and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

Itinerary details will be announced in the coming weeks. Musical director Sunny Jain will coordinate the roster of performances.

While the block party is free and open to the public, Lincoln Center will also mark the anniversary with a Diamond Jubilee Gala fundraiser May 5. On May 6, Lincoln Center’s incoming President and CEO Henry Timms begins his tenure.
