Off-Broadway News Julissa Contreras' Play About a Dominican Family in the Bronx Post-9/11 Has Found Its Stars

INTAR Theatre and Radio Drama Network present the world premiere of Vámonos beginning next month.

The previously announced world premiere of Julissa Contreras' Vámonos has found its stars. The Main Stage production will begin performances April 22 and open May 1. Presented by INTAR Theater and Radio Drama Network, the production is set to run through May 21.

Vámonos tells the story of the Torres family, a Dominican family from the Bronx who gather to celebrate the christening of Juana's grandson, Christopher. It’s just a year after 9/11, and this bilingual play explores how the family navigates a new reality that challenges their sense of security. 

Starring in the cast will be Cindy Peralta, Yohanna Florentino, Angela Reynoso, Kiara Lauren, Cesar J. Rosado, Denzel Rodriguez, and Ansi Rodriguez. 

Director Tatyana-Marie Carlo will helm the creative team including scenic designer Rodrigo Escalante, costume designer Jennifer Colón, lighting designer Alberto Ruiz, sound designer Germán Martinez. The production will also feature video and projections by Stefania Bulbarella.
