Jay Armstrong Johnson's annual Halloween concert-party I Put a Spell On You returns as a live, in-person event after two years of virtual entries October 23. Hide your children and trash any black flame candles, because the Hocus Pocus-themed event plays NYC's Sony Hall beginning at 8 PM.

As previously announced, the event will stream on Broadway On Demand beginning October 30 at 7 PM ET, with the performance available to watch on demand for four days. Proceeds from both the live and streaming events benefit Broadway Cares, supporting the organization's ongoing efforts to help those affected by HIV/AIDS, COVID-19, and other critical illnesses countrywide. The non-profit works to provide meals, medication, emergency financial assistance, housing, counseling, and other services.

Johnson is back as Winifred Sanderson along with Allison Robinson and Amanda Williams Ware as Sarah and Mary Sanderson, respectively. The evening of performances with larger-than-life costumes and make-up also features a host of Broadway favorites, including Major Attaway, Nick Rashad Burroughs, Gavin Creel, Robyn Hurder, Tamika Lawrence, Julia Mattison, Tomás Matos, Alanna Saunders, Claire Saunders, Heath Saunders, James Scully, and Alysha Umphress. After the performance, stick around for a spooky dance party. Attendees are encouraged to come in their best Halloween wear—and, yes, there will be a costume contest.

Ahmad Simmons is helming this year's event while also serving as lead choreographer. Will Van Dyke music directs, with costume design and art direction by DW, multimedia produced by Catriona Rubenis-Stevens, technical direction by Mido Francios, makeup led by Alcone Company's Kyle Krueger, and set decoration by Michael Lee Scott. The event, presented by Kampfire Films, is produced by Katie Rosin, Johnson, and DW.
