Broadway News Harvey Fierstein Talks Taking Matthew Broderick to His First Gay Bar and More on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen

The Funny Girl writer and Plaza Suite star shared stories and revealed Broadway opinions on Cohen's late night show.

Broadway veterans Harvey Fierstein and Matthew Broderick visited Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live April 24 to discuss all things Broadway. The appearance coincided with the opening night of Funny Girl on Broadway, to which Harvey Fierstein has contributed a revised book. Broderick is currently starring in a revival of Neil Simon's Plaza Suite at the Hudson Theatre opposite wife Sarah Jessica Parker.

On the show, the Tony winners shared that Fierstein took Broderick to his first gay bar and the protective instinct that came over Fierstein as Broderick began to gather looks. See the complete story above.

The two also played games with Cohen, including a round of Does Harvey Give a Damn!?, in which we find out what pop culture news and Broadway moments Fierstein cares about, from the full frontal nudity in Take Me Out and Pamela Anderson's debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago to the return of Mrs. Doubtfire on Broadway. Watch below.

The two also played a game of Which Broad-Way Do You Lean?, where they had to pick between pairs of Broadway veterans who took on the same role. From Bette Miller and Barbara Streisand in Hello, Dolly! to Jennifer Holliday and Jennifer Hudson in Dreamgirls, the two share their thoughts on who did it best. Watch below.

Lastly, the two also answered fan questions. Broderick spoke about not starring in Sex and the City while Fierstein shared a bit about how he landed his role in the film Mrs. Doubtfire.
