Grace Hodgett Young, who plays Betty Schaefer in the Tony-winning revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Blvd., will play her final performance July 13 at the St. James.

Young, who is departing the Jamie Lloyd-directed production due to a previous professional commitment, originated the role in London’s West End in fall 2023 and earned an Olivier nomination for the performance.

Sydney Jones, who currently plays the role of Dorothy and understudies the roles of Betty and Young Norma, will play Betty beginning July 15 and continue through the production's final performance July 20.

Young said in a statement, “It’s been an absolute thrill to have made both my Broadway and West End debuts in Sunset Blvd. When I first walked into the audition room over two years ago, I had no idea how my life would change. My eternal gratitude to Jamie Lloyd and the entire Sunset Blvd. team for taking a chance on the new kid.”

Director Lloyd added, “Grace was just out of drama school when we cast her as Betty, but her talent and star quality proved to me she is already one of the greatest young stage actors working today. Her smile, quick wit, and love for everyone at Sunset Blvd. will be missed.”

As previously reported, Olivier winner and 2025 Tony nominee Tom Francis will play his final performance July 6. Beginning July 8 and continuing through the final performance July 20, Francis will be succeeded by Pierre Marais, who currently plays the role of Sammy and understudies the role of Joe Gillis.

The Tony-winning revival recently welcomed Jordan Donica, last on Broadway in a Tony-nominated turn as Lancelot in the Lincoln Center Theater revival of Camelot, to the role of Max von Mayerling. He succeeded Olivier winner David Thaxton, who played his final performance June 8.

The Broadway company of Sunset also stars 2025 Tony and 2024 Olivier winner Nicole Scherzinger as Norma Desmond.
