Photos First Look at Josh Charles and Josh Hamilton in The Antipodes The Signature Theatre production of Annie Baker’s play has already been extended twice.

Performances began April 4 for the world premiere of The Antipodes, the new play by Pulitzer Prize winner Annie Baker. The playwright returns to the Off-Broadway theatre following her acclaimed play John.

Similarly to John, of which very little was revealed prior to beginning performances, the description for The Antipodes reads simply: “A play about people telling stories about telling stories.“ The production is directed by Lila Neugebauer and will officially open April 23.

The cast is made up of Phillip James Brannon (Tiny Beautiful Things), Josh Charles (The Good Wife), Josh Hamilton (Madam Secretary), Danny Mastrogiorgio (Gotham), Danny McCarthy (Prison Break), Emily Cass McDonnell (Mercury Fur), Brian Miskell (The Flick), Will Patton (Fool For Love), and Nicole Rodenburg (Venus in Fur).

The creative team includes Laura Jellinek (scenic design), Kaye Voyce (costume design), Tyler Micoleau (lighting design), and Bray Poor (sound design). Laura Smith is the production stage manager. Casting is by Telsey + Company.
