"Meryl Streep is so remarkable. She is able to find colors in lyric that I've rarely come across," Sondheim said in the Playbill.com exclusive video. "She would do a number of takes on the songs in the recording studio, and every take was different in some way."

The film is scheduled to hit theatres Dec. 25.
