With music director Matt Cusson on piano, Brian Gallagher on guitar, Ryan Hoagland on percussion and Dennis Keefe on bass, Hilty ran through several of the Broadway numbers and jazzy tunes that fill out her set. Playbill's cameras rolled as they began "They Just Keep Moving the Line," a Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman song featured in NBC's "Smash" TV series. In the show, the song is part of the Marilyn Monroe musical Bombshell written by characters Julia Houston and Tom Levitt, played by Debra Messing and Christian Borle.
On June 8, the Actors Fund presents a one-night-only concert presentation of Bombshell at Broadway's Minskoff Theatre. Tickets sold out in just over an hour after they were released via a special April 13 pre-sale. Hilty expects to reunite with cast members Messing, Borle, Will Chase and Katharine McPhee. "Smash" executive producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan will produce the concert.
