Krieger and Russell's cult 1997 Broadway musical Side Show, subsequently revived and revised in a different production by Oscar-winning director and screenwriter Bill Condon in 2014, is to receive its U.K. premiere in a brand-new staging, beginning performances October 21 prior to an official opening October 26 at London's Southwark Playhouse, for a run through December 3.

“We're thrilled that Side Show will finally receive a professional production in London! The Southwark Theatre and the producer Paul Taylor-Mills have a wonderful reputation,” Russell told Playbill.com. “We’re really looking forward to seeing how the U.K. reacts to the Hilton Sisters, who were born in Brighton.”

The Broadway revival, which incorporated new musical material and deepened the twins' personal story, was praised by critics. Despite strong notices, the production closed after 77 performances.

Here's a look at the Broadway revival.

Inspired by the true story of conjoined twins Daisy and Violet Hilton, who make ends meet by playing a headline act at a seedy side show until they are launched into the spotlight on the famed 1920s Orpheum vaudeville circuit, it is a musical about love, acceptance and embracing the unique.

Side Show has music by Krieger and book and lyrics by Russell, with additional book material by Condon.

The production is presented by Paul Taylor-Mills, who has previously presented the U.K. premieres of In the Heights and Carrie: the Musical, both first also at Southwark Playhouse, with In the Heights now carrying on in an Olivier nominated run at the King's Cross Theatre.

It will be directed by Hannah Chiswick, whose recent credits include the National Youth Music Theatre production of Brass that won the U.K. Theatre Award for Best Musical, and Marry Me a Little at London's St James Studio.

Casting, which is yet to be announced, is by Will Burton.
