The George Bernard Shaw play was publicly banned for 30 years due to promoting "immoral and improper" ideas.

Caroline Quentin and Rose Quentin in Mrs. Warren's Profession

Mother-daughter duo Caroline Quentin and Rose Quentin will star as Mrs. Warren and daughter Vivie in Royal Bath Productions' upcoming production of George Bernard Shaw’s Mrs. Warren’s Profession. The production will open at the Theatre Royal Bath in Bath, England November 9, before undertaking a national tour. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

Former National Theatre associate director Anthony Banks will helm the production, which will be designed by David Woodhead.

Written in 1894 but banned for 30 years by the Lord Chamberlain who found it "immoral and improper," Mrs. Warren’s Profession is Shaw's opus on English hypocrisy and the concept of fashionable morality.

Two-time British Comedy Award winner Caroline Quentin is known for her filmed work on Men Behaving Badly, Kiss Me Kate, and Dancing on the Edge, in addition to her appearance on Strictly Come Dancing. Rose Quentin previously starred in the horror film York Witches Society, and recently played the role of Katrina Van Tassel in the stage version of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow with Wendi Peters and Bill Ward.l
