Bob Martin, who earned a Tony nomination in 2006 for his performance as reclusive theatre obsessive “Man in Chair” in The Drowsy Chaperone (for which he also wrote the book), will return to the role for Encores!’ 25th anniversary season.

Martin will appear in character as part of Hey, Look Me Over!, an original revue that explores shows that have not yet been given new life on the Encores! stage. In addition to comedic commentary from the chair-bound narrator, audiences can expect overtures, grand finales, and more from shows that—unlike The Drowsy Chaperone’s show-within-a showactually exist, including Mack & Mabel, Milk and Honey, and Greenwillow.

Hey, Look Me Over! is conceived by Encores! Artistic Director Jack Viertel. Performances will run February 7–11, 2018, at New York City Center. Rob Berman will once again take to the podium to conduct the Encores! orchestra.

Martin earned Tony nominations for both his performance and the book of The Drowsy Chaperone. He is also the book writer of the musical adaptation of Elf.

Additional titles for the 2018 season will be announced at a later date.
