The revival of David Mamet's American Buffalo starring Tony winner Laurence Fishburne, and Golden Globe winners Sam Rockwell and Darren Criss, opens April 14 at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theatre, following previews that began March 22. Directed by Neil Pepe, the limited 16-week engagement will run through July 10.
The play follows three small-time hustlers in search of the American Dream. The production premiered on Broadway in 1977, receiving two Tony Award nominations and a Drama Desk award for Outstanding Set Design. It has gone on to be revived Off-Broadway in 1981 and 2000, and on Broadway in 1983.
The production stars Fishburne as Donny, Rockwell as Teach, and Criss as Bobby. It features set design by Scott Pask, costume design by Dede Ayite, lighting design by Tyler Micoleau, and casting by Telsey + Co and William Cantler.
