The cast of Ain’t Too Proud—The Life and Times of The Temptations released an a cappella version of "My Girl" this week to celebrate Black Music Month.
In the video below, Tony nominees Derrick Baskin, Jeremy Pope, and Ephraim Sykes—alongside James Harkness and Jawan M. Jackson—sing the Temptations hit in a recording studio.
The show, currently playing Broadway's Imperial Theatre, earned choreographer Sergio Trujillo a Tony Award earlier this month and was nominated for 11 others. During the broadcast ceremony, the quintet performed a medley of "Ain’t Too Proud to Beg," "Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)," and "I Can’t Get Next to You."
Baskin stars as Otis Williams in the jukebox musical, with Pope as Eddie Kendricks, Sykes as David Ruffin, Harkness as Paul Williams, and Jackson as Melvin Franklin.
