A.A. Brenner's Good Girls Don't Go to Hell will get a London run this summer, running July 31-August 7 at The Divine in Dalston. The work is being produced by queer-led production company The Siq Collective, in association with Brooklyn Rep UK.

The new work is set in a "liminal drag dreamscape," according to press notes, following five women all named Cecily as they explore the archetypes of womanhood—specifically the good girl, the damsel, the girlboss, the repressed one, and the femme fatale.

Good Girls is my love letter to womanhood,” says Brenner, who is transmasculine. “It’s about breaking down who you think you ‘should’ be and embracing the full complexity of yourself—including the parts you may not be too fond of. And it’s for anyone and everyone who has ever been told they are either ‘too much’ or ‘not enough.’"

The cast will include Kemah Bob (Death Drop), Tiggy Bayley (Squidge), Beth Graham (For the Gays!), Tahiris Adames (Identity), Eliza Martin (0), and Femmi (Very Femmi).

“The world doesn’t know what to do with anyone who lives outside the binary,” says director Emma Denson. “This show doesn’t just challenge society’s views of femininity—it obliterates them, with glitter and grace.”

The run will launch alongside a fashion line intended to fund the show and future queer performance projects. That initiative has already raised nearly $2,000 in pre-orders.

The work was previously developed at SPACE on Ryder Farm and T4T Fest at The Brick.

The Siq Collective is co-founded by Brenner and Danielle Hope Diamond, who also serves as this project's executive creative producer. The production team also includes Brooklyn Rep Artistic Director Charles Quittner, dramaturg Luz Lorenzana Twigg, and Director of PR and Brand Experience Aislinn Cain.
