Jimmy Award winner Andrew Barth Feldman made his Broadway debut in the Tony-winning hit musical Dear Evan Hansen January 30. The 16-year-old high school junior stepped into the title role, succeeding Taylor Trensch, who took his final bow at the Music Box Theatre January 27. "As a real-life high school student, I relate to the character of Evan Hansen immensely. And as a performer, it’s obviously been a dream of mine to sing [Benj] Pasek and [Justin] Paul’s amazing score,” says the actor. “I’m so excited to get to make my Broadway debut in this show that means so much to me and my peers.”
The current Broadway company of Dear Evan Hansen also includes Lisa Brescia as Heidi Hansen, Mallory Bechtel as Zoe Murphy, Alex Boniello as Connor Murphy, Jennifer Laura Thompson as Cynthia Murphy, Michael Park as Larry Murphy, Phoenix Best as Alana Beck, and Sky Lakota-Lynch as Jared Kleinman. Michael Lee Brown serves as the Evan Hansen alternate and continues to play select performances.
