Theatre Communications Group held its 2019 Gala on February 4, honoring playwright Tony Kushner, press agent and DKC/O&M president Rick Miramontez, and arts philanthropist Martha R. Ingram. The ceremony, directed by Michael Mayer, featured performances by Eva Noblezada and Patrick Page of the upcoming Broadway musical Hadestown, Ali Stroker of the upcoming revival of Oklahoma!, and Beth Malone of Angels In America and Fun Home.
In addition to honoring Kushner, Miramontez, and Ingram, the gala also celebrated TCG programs committed to advancing leaders of color in the field. The gala’s co-chairs included Long Wharf artistic director Jacob G. Pardón; Jujamcyn Theaters president Jordan Roth with husband and producer Richie Jackson; producer and Disney Theatrical Group president Thomas Schumacher with husband and interior designer Matthew White, and director Liesl Tommy.
