Ahrens and Flaherty's Little Dancer Makes Big Impression in Rehearsal Room Preview

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will present the world-premiere production of Little Dancer. Set in the harsh backstage world of the Paris Opera Ballet, the new musical is a fictionalized look at the life of the young ballerina who posed for Edgar Degas and became, inadvertently, the most famous dancer in the world. Here, the cast (including Rebecca Luker as Adult Marie van Goethem, New York City Ballet principal dancer Tiler Peck as Young Marie van Goethem and Boyd Gaines as Edgar Degas) runs through four of the show's Lynn Ahrens (book and lyrics) and Stephen Flaherty (music) penned tunes. Five-time Tony winner Susan Stroman directs and choreographs. Read the Playbill story about ballet dancers making their marks on Broadway.
