DESCRIPTION

The Bret Adams Artists Agency and the The Bret Adams and Paul Reisch Foundation are accepting applications for Winter/Spring, to start in January and continue through April/May. Flexible end dates. Part Time (2-3 days a week). Applicants interested in more than one internship should send separate cover letters indicating their interest in both internships.

Literary Intern: Bret Adams Ltd. Artist's Agency

Bret Adams Ltd. represents playwrights, directors, theatrical designers, composers, and music directors. The Intern will support and assist the Literary Department and will have the opportunity to experience the business in its entire spectrum. This internship is unpaid and offers college credit, and is ideal for students and early-career professionals interested in General Management, Producing, Dramaturgy, or Literary Management.  

The intern's duties and educational benefits include the drafting and filing of agency agreements/contracts, researching theatres and reading scripts for consideration, and observing the negotiation of literary contracts.  Requirements include strong communication skills, a professional demeanor, a general knowledge of Microsoft Office/Google Suite, and strong attention to detail.

Literary Intern: The Bret Adams and Paul Reisch Foundation

The Bret Adams and Paul Reisch Foundation is a new Foundation awarding grants to artists creating idea-driven new art works. This internship offers a learning experience for students and young professionals interested in arts administration. The intern's duties and educational benefits include the opportunity to observe and participate in the processes of defining, awarding, and administering three different grants under the Foundation's umbrella. The day-to-day work will vary depending on the stage of the application cycle, but tasks will include website maintenance, tracking applications, and organizing materials relating to our Advisory Boards and applicants. Requirements include a passion for theatre artists, a general knowledge of Microsoft Office / Google Suite, and a strong attention to detail. Experience with web platforms including Squarespace is a plus.
