Egg & Spoon Theatre Collective is seeking a diverse non-AEA ensemble to be cast in a production of THE KILLER by Eugene Ionesco, directed by Liam Lonegan. The production is set to run February 7th-10th in the Gallery at Access Theater in SoHo.

An inspired citizen visits a secret and radiant district in her city, only to learn that there is a killer on the loose, murdering people and happiness at random. She might be the only one motivated enough to stop him. 

Experience with heightened text and physical theatre is a plus, but not required. Non-binary, gender non-conforming, genderqueer actors are strongly encouraged to submit. Actors of color are strongly encouraged to submit. Those who submit must be available for tech and performances during the entire week of February 4th-10th, 2019. There is no pay for those performers who are cast in the production. 

Brief character descriptions are below. Please note that each role is considered open gender (except for B) and open race:

B: Female, our Everyman, idealistic, passionate, and desperately searching for justice in an indifferent city.
Edward: a confused and sickly friend, with a depressive temperament. 
Architect: an experienced representative of the civil service.
Dennie: a young typist with a strong cause. 
Concierge: an outspoken matron with lots of drive. 
Old Man: a wandering soul who is stuck in the past. 

To submit, please send a headshot and resume to Auditions will take place on Monday, November 26th in midtown. If you are scheduled, we will send you sides to prepare. In case, please have one monologue ready to present, as well.
