DESCRIPTION

This December, Initiative Productions will produce a short film adaptation of the new musical, 'Gotta Getta Girl' with book/lyrics by Peter Morris and music by David Caldwell. Featuring Mikey LaMasa (The Hell's Kitchenettes, That Golden Girls Show) and Sam Underwood (TV's Fear The Walking Dead, Dexter, The Following), directed by Jamie Sims and choreographed by legendary tap choreographer, Randy Skinner (Dames At Sea, 42nd Street).

'Gotta Getta Girl' is a rioutuous and wildly entertaining new musical in the ole' tap dancin' style of the golden age of MGM musicals. Gene and Don, a Vaudeville tap dancing duo are forced to re-evaluate their unsuccessful career in show business when they decide they "gotta getta girl" into the act.

We are now looking for the girl we gotta get!

Debbie Ross - early 20s to early 30s, strong singer and tap dancer; youthfully exuberant and a bit kooky; comes across as small-town sweet and sincere, but is actually big-city cold and calculating in her desire to achieve success. WE ARE SPECIFICALLY LOOKING AT ACTORS OF COLOR FOR THIS ROLE.

The short film will shoot for a couple of days this coming December in NYC, with dance rehearsals in mid-late November.

Initial auditions will be via video submission.

Please submit
- 16-32 bars of your best musical theatre song that shows off your range. (Something reminiscent of 1930's/40's style)
- Around 16 bars of tap choreography - SHOW OFF YOUR SKILLS.
- Headshot/Resume

Send auditions by email or via WeTransfer/Dropbox to contact@initiative26.com.

DURATION

November 19, 2018 - December 14, 2018
