Ragtime- Casting All Roles
Columbia University MFA Directing student is casting all roles for the musical Ragtime.
Directed by Daniel Adams under the factuly advisement of Anne Bogart.
This epic musical about American at the turn of the 20th century will be distilled and presented in a creative new production. We are seeking skilled and truthful actors with strong voices and big imaginations.
All ethnicities, genders, ages and physical abilities are encouraged to audition.
Actors who play musical instruments strongly encouraged to audition.

Casting All Roles
Coalhouse Walker, Jr. -baritone with strong top range (Ab-G, with a sustained high F#). proud, confident, and commited to justice.
Sarah- lyric soprano (low G#-high F# on staff)
gentle, loving, determined
Mother- lyric soprano; range: low G-high Eb on staff) compassionate, optimistic, a leader.
Father- baritone; range: B-E on staff, cautious; resistant to change.
Younger Brother- tenor/baritone with strong top range B-high F#, passionate anarchist; intense and high strung.
Young boy- (AGE 8-13) juvenile voice; range: E-Db on staff, precocious and curious.
Young Girl- (AGE 8-13) Tateh's daughter, Eastern European/Jewish immigrant; juvenile voice, range E-Db on the staff) quiet and shy.
Tateh- Eastern European/Jewish Immigrant, slight accent; tenor; range Db-high F#) intelligent, passionate, creative.
Evelyn- cameo, historical, Vaudevillian performer, belter/soprano, range middle C-Db on staff, dancer preferred.
Grandfather- (55+) Mother's Father, some "speak sung" lyrics, baritone, gruff & outspoken.
Ensemble- The ensemble will cover many smaller roles as well as create the atmosphere for the piece. Various voice parts and dancing in the musical numbers.
