CMT San Jose is in search of a well-rounded Production Assistant to join its artistic staff. This new full-time role will support all aspects of CMT’s seasonal programming including: 10 full-scale musical productions, annual organizational events and summer camp. Candidate will play active role in management of props, hair/make up, and pre-production and tech week responsibilities, as well as administrative tasks to support production timelines. Candidate should have strong communication and project management skills, excel by working with a team, and thrive in fast-pace artistic environment.    Production assistant will report directly to seasoned Production Manager and Artistic Manager.      Annual Production programs and Events • 10 annual productions • Fall awards ceremony (Honors Night) • Winter annual gala • Spring Rita Moreno awards • Summer Preview Night/season announcement  • 8-week summer camp    Major Responsibilities (as directed by Production Manager) • Development/Management  Plan, staff (volunteers), design and implementation of props, hair, wigs, make-up for all CMT productions; Oversee, staff, implement pre-production and volunteer move-in/strike schedules for each production; Responsible for taking inventory, distribution, copying, transcribing, shipping and archiving of all show scripts and scores throughout the season. • Pre-Production Interface with Artistic Manager to update season master calendars for organization and productions; creation of production templates, production grids and cast lists for publication; Prepare and maintain “Mastertracs” on all rehearsal computers; Ongoing dialogue with costume designers, hair/make-up volunteers on plan and progress; offer any needed problem solving according to production timelines. • Auditions and Casting Support staff/volunteers to manage conflict calendar approval at General Auditions; Prepare show materials for Artistic Staff for all shows (includes script, score, calendar, DVDs, set designs, reference material, etc). • Rehearsals Work with volunteer core to develop workforce to pull wigs and design hair/make up plans; Develop workforce to pull props and build simple props. Oversee ongoing progress. Design and construct more complex props. Help problem solve throughout the rehearsal process to support volunteer workforce. Attend production meetings.               • Tech Rehearsals Act as liaison with theater facility and staff as it relates to costume, props, hair/make-up for both movein/strike and throughout tech week; Supervise Rising Star Stage manager to ensure tech stays on schedule (with support from PM); Check progress and trouble-shoot all technical areas during Rising Star and Junior Talent run-throughs.  • Post Production Oversee Props, Hair, and Make Up volunteers to ensure all items are returned, archived and cleaned for next use; Follow up with key volunteers for reimbursements; Attend post-mortem following each production close to help improve process.  • Events (See list at top) Pull music and tracs for all events; Order awards, trophies, engraving; Assist in and out of Event conversion; Attend rehearsals as problem solver/trouble shooter; Assist in Brunch move-in (Honors Night, Dec), ASM for events (all but Gala).        Qualifications 2 – 4 years production experience with performing arts organization Strong communication, organization, and project management skills Ability to work well in a team Experience managing a team of adult volunteers Technical stage experience Confident ASM Creative understanding of theatrical hair and make-up Ability to design and construct production props Ability to manage the following Microsoft Office programs (primarily Outlook, Word, Excel)      Please submit resume and cover letter to Josh Rose:
