Marketing and Communications Director

As part of Senior Staff, the Marketing and Communications Director is responsible for the development and execution of strategic marketing and communication efforts to achieve the goals of the CTC Marketing Department. The Director reports directly to the Managing Director and oversees the day-to-day activities of the marketing team. This role supervises the Marketing and Communications Associate, Community Engagement Associate, Graphic Designer, and Artistic/Marketing Intern.

·       Oversees the planning, development, and execution of the organization’s marketing and advertising activities for the 8-week summer season 

·    Creates and prints the season program inserts and special event flyers for MainStage shows, New Play Workshops, and Special Events. 

·       Ensure that key, strategic messages are communicated effectively to target audiences

·       Develops and executes strategies to enhance the organization's public image, working with the Chautauqua Institution and community partners.

·       Directs the creation and distribution of internal and external communications such as posters, press releases, website, e-blasts, and social media.

·       Manages media relations efforts, serving as primary contact for reports, coordinating interviews, and providing relevant information and assets to media outlets.

·       Cultivates relationships with local and national press/media contacts   

·       Coordinates and manages photo calls and other photo shoots

·       Works closely with Chautauqua Institution marketing and ticketing staff to promote the organization and ticket sales

·       Oversees the CTC Ticketing Kiosk and serves as the primary contact with Chautauqua Institution ticketing staff

·       Develops merchandising plan to generate earned revenue from theater’s gift shop 

·       Supervises ticketing and house management of special events

·       Manages department budget

·       Performs audience relations responsibilities such as attending to ticketing needs and responding to guest e-mail, phone, and mail inquires
