Brave New World Repertory Theatre seeks a Managing Associate Intern to join it's team! Brave New World Rep, an acclaimed 15 year-old Brooklyn-based, 501c3 not-for-profit, (with a resident company of 25 actors, directors, playwrights, designers and stage managers) reaches under-served audiences to promote a love of theatre, with re-imagined classics and brave new works that reflect our diverse community. BNW’s free-to-low-cost programs range from intimate readings to large outdoor productions, and cast unique and historic Brooklyn venues in a leading role. The Managing Associate Intern will be a valued member of our team, and the right candidate will have a strong opportunity for advancement to Managing Director. They will work closely with our Producing Artistic Director to complete tasks to help maintain and grow the company. They will hold a range of responsibilities including but not limited to: overseeing the day-to-day administrative duties of the company, assisting the Producer in all tasks, overseeing and maintaining all Donor inquires, overseeing all box office inquires, House Managing productions when needed, and assisting in operating budgets.
The ideal candidate will be a self starter on an arts administration track who is eager to jump in and help where needed. A Bachelor's Degree in Theatre Administration or Production is preferred. Must commit to working onsite in Brooklyn every Tuesday from 12:00-5:00pm. Will be required to work remotely throughout the week. Must have strong communication skills, costumer service experience, and enthusiasm for live theatre. Experience with Ovationtix a plus. A small bi-weekly stipend, commensurate with experience will be provided.
