Two River Theater, a mid-sized professional LORT theater, one hour from New York City, is seeking Technical Assistant applicants for our 2019-2020 season.
The Technical Assistants are part of Two River’s Junior Staff, a program that is a springboard for young professionals at the start of their career. The program offers practical applications in multiple career fields. The season long positions-in-residence are supported by mentors who help them learn and connect with leading industry professionals, allowing them to grow within their specific fields.

The ideal candidate is positive, self-motivated, organized, collaborative and professional. You must have experience working with theatrical lighting systems. Experience programming the ETC ION is essential. Experience with Lightwright, Vectorworks and Q-Lab is helpful. Duties include working as a member of the lighting crew on all aspects of hang, focus, tech notes, and strike. The lighting assistant will also serve as board op, spotlight op, or other positions as needed for the run of our mainstage and blackbox productions. Other duties include helping to maintain inventories, and assisting sound and other departments as needed. Contract dates are early August through late June
The ideal candidate must have experience working with live and recorded sound for theatrical productions. Experience with Yamaha digital consoles and wireless mics is essential. Experience with Q-Lab, and Pro Tools is helpful, as well as some experience with theatrical lighting systems and projections. You must be positive, self-motivated, organized, collaborative and professional. Duties include working as a member of the sound crew on all aspects of sound support from the load in through the strike. The sound assistant will also serve as either sound board op, A2 , FOH mix engineer, or other positions as needed during the run of our mainstage and blackbox productions. Other duties include assisting lighting and other departments as needed. Contract dates are early August through late June
Wardrobe/Costume Shop Assistant
Responsibilities include: working in the costume shop, on wardrobe crews, and assisting other departments as needed. Candidates must have experience with costume construction, alterations, wardrobe/run crew, costume maintenance, as well as experience with all standard costume shop equipment. Knowledge of cutting, tailoring, craft work, wig experience and makeup is a plus. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, collaborative, positive, and has a professional attitude. Contract dates are early August through late June.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working on run crews for the majority of the season and working with the properties shop staff to acquire all hand props, furniture, and set dressing as needed for rehearsals and performances; organizing and maintaining existing properties stock; and assisting other departments as required. Candidate must have experience with basic scenic carpentry, soft goods, faux painting techniques, crafts, and running shows. Applicants must be professional, self-motivated, collaborative, and able to work flexible hours while remaining positive and focused during busy times. A valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a cargo van are required. Contract dates are early August through late June.
