Job Details

INFINITE VARIETY PRODUCTIONS, a NYS not for profit is looking for actors for their upcoming show. IVP, is dedicated to shedding a light on the unknown history from women's history. Using primary documents, all of our plays used the exact words from the documents as the script.

IVP's newest show uses the diary of Margaret Welisch, and the oral histories of Stephen Ettinger, Susan Ettinger and Gitta Wachs to tell the story of their family. The Welisch family fled Nazi persecution and found themselves in the Philippines. Susi, who was 2 when she left, and Gitta age 6 found themselves in a whole different world. Their parents Margaret and Albert did the best they could to give the girls the best childhood, and they did - until the Japanese invaded. The Welisch family is about the sacrifices parents make for their childnre's freedom, and how love can truly beat hate.

Rehearsals start mid October and are every Monday night and Saturday day until December and then go on a break until mid January where rehearsals resume until the performances. The show is booked to be part of the Estrogenius festival in downtown NYC this March 2020. $100 stipend with possible paid engagements moving forward.

ALBERT WELISCH (any age but holds himself with the maturity of someone in his late 30s, early 40s, any ethnicity) Albert has already served in WWI and has learned to get through hard times by putting on a smile. He is always trying to make the best of any situation. We meet him at age 35 - 45 and then 65, however he has an extremely youthful way about him.

AUDITIONS will be in the evening, Sunday, 9/15. Please submit headshot and resume to set up an audition time.

October 14, 2019 - March 31, 2020
