Position Title: Customer Service Associate, Full-Time, Immediate Start Date


Hazel Village makes organic cotton woodland animals, dolls, doll clothes and matching children’s clothes to inspire hours of immersive, low-tech play. The company and the animals have the same core values: we are resourceful, clever, jolly, diligent, and gentle. 


The Customer Service Associate is responsible for assisting retail and wholesale customers, fielding questions and comments on multiple channels including phone, email and social media. S/he is responsible for keeping the store and fulfillment areas organized and well stocked. S/he will also assist the marketing team in keeping the website up-to-date and assist other teams as needed. 


The Customer Service Associate should be a friendly person with excellent communication skills. Must be able to learn the details of the products and store policies. Reports to the COO and will be in regular contact with Inventory, Fulfillment and Marketing staff.


This is a full time position, 40 hours/week, 10-6pm Monday-Friday. 


Compensation is $16/hr. Eligible for health benefits after 30 days of employment.


Essential Duties:

  • Assist customers in person, on the phone, over email and social media (responding to comments/DMs).

  • Process returns and exchanges. Assist fulfillment team in packing and shipping orders.

  • Keep storefront and fulfillment area tidy. Restock products and refresh displays. 

  • Staff special events and markets as needed.

  • Assist production team with trimming and finishing tasks.

  • Assist marketing team with website upkeep, including testing new features, proofreading copy, and making simple edits.


Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of customer service experience.

  • Outgoing personality.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Punctual and reliable.


Helpful Qualifications:

  • Social media savvy.

  • Experience with Photoshop.

  • Experience with website editing in Shopify, Wordpress, or similar.

  • Affinity for arts and crafts.


Contract Terms:

This is a full-time position with a 2-month trial period. There will be a performance review after the first month, at which time employment may be extended with the agreement of both parties.
