An 800-seat performing arts center located in New York City seeks an experienced temporary Assistant Box Office Manager to assist with the managing of ticketing, box office, and other administrative operations through August 27, 2017.

Reporting to the Box Office Manager, the Assistant Box Office Manager will provide professional box office service and administrative support for the performing arts center, provide support for the box office by managing the daily operations of the box office and supervise the cashier staff, maintain the ticketing system, and verify event information across several databases and systems, assist with financial accounting of the box office, including the preparation of daily deposits and tracking box office transactions, and act as Box Office Manager in Box Office Manager's absence.

Primary responsibilities include: assisting in the day-to-day operation of the venue box office to provide efficient, quality service to customers, handling customer needs quickly and in a personable manner, troubleshooting any ticketing, hardware or software issues that may arise, and processing show finalization at the end of an event; delivering adequate reports to all who require them in a timely manner; supervising and providing ongoing training to staff for show calls and monitoring overall condition of box office equipment and facilities; preparing and executing will call and ticket sales for events; being available to troubleshoot any issues that may arise in the absence of the Manager including issues involving clients and front of house personnel; acting as Box Office Manager when assigned or when Box Office Manager is unavailable.

In addition, the Assistant Box Office Manager will: collect and count all box office income (cash and credit cards) on a daily basis for deposit; compare collected monies against ticketing system reports and reconcile discrepancies; compare ticketing system reports to physical inventory advising Box Office Manager of all discrepancies; track cashier errors and prepare regular reports; prepare monthly inventory reports; manage the organization and maintenance of box office calendar in Google Account to be shared with all box office employees and applicable administrative supervisors; schedule appropriate staff needed for regular box office hours and event calls; assist Box Office Manager with the training and supervision of box office employees to ensure a professional, knowledgeable, and courteous environment.

Demonstrated experience operating and managing Tessitura Network Software is required. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors’ Degree and at least 2 years' experience overseeing box office operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working in a University or large performing arts venue is preferred. General availability for evening and weekend shifts throughout the summer is strongly preferred.
