American Traditions Vocal Competition
Savannah, GA 31416

Mikki Sodergren

Job Details

📣📣Attention Singers! 📣📣

🔹It’s that time of year again – the American Traditions Vocal Competition is accepting applications for an earlier deadline – please note our deadline this year – Monday, September 23. This competition is open to ANY singer over the age of 18 who loves to sing different styles of music! Each singer is asked to prepare a program of nine different songs, with each song representing a different genre of music by a composer or songwriter holding United States citizenship.

🔹Prizes exceed $35,000 and our competition takes place in sunny Savannah, Georgia in February. Our 27th annual competition takes place from February 17-21, 2020. Applications include audio files of your proposed first program of songs (three audio files total). All audio is blindly prescreened by a panel of professional vocalists and educators, spanning genres from classical to pop to jazz, soul and Broadway.

🔹We are also committed to education, and are launching a high school level competition in October and November in Savannah. So many organizations require an application fee, and singers never know where it ends up! The ATC’s application fee goes to our education program, because we believe investing in the musical education of children is investing in the future of the arts.

🔹We are an unique competition, and if you love singing and listening to different styles of music, we hope you will check out our website at and find out more about us. Please reach out to our Artistic Director (me) with any questions, at the world’s longest email:

🔹To read a first-hand account of being a part of the ATC, by our 2017 Silver Medalist, Nashville-based songbird Dara Tucker, check out her article here:

🔹For a piece written by 2019 Judge and Operatic composer, Michael Ching, please read his article in Schmopera:
