“Molly Sweeney is an astonishing work…a deeply moving meditation on hope, change, and despair.” -- The New York Times
Molly Sweeney tells the story of Molly who has been blind since infancy. When her hopeful husband and ambitious doctor propose an operation to restore her sight, Molly and those around her begin to understand that things may not all be as they seem. Both moving and thought provoking, Molly Sweeney tackles sensitive issues in a beautifully theatrical way.
Ireland’s Brian Friel is the playwright behind such classics as Dancing at Lughnasa, Translations, and Philadelphia, Here I Come. Molly Sweeney stars Pamela Sabaugh, an accomplished low vision actress, as well as Paul O’Brien and Tommy Shrider.
There will be audio described performances on Tuesday October 22nd and Thursday October 31st. Additional dates to be announced.
Molly Sweeney runs 2.5 hours including a 10 minute intermission. It may not be appropriate for ages 10 years or younger.
