Zachary Levi joins the cast of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel when the series returns to Amazon for the ten-episode Season 2.
A 2016 Tony nominee for his performance in the Roundabout Theatre Company revival of She Loves Me, Levi will appear alongside theatre veterans four-time Tony nominee Tony Shalhoub, who plays the titular character’s father Abe, and Marin Hinkle, who plays her mother. The show follows Miriam “Midge” Maisel who, in 1958, finds her penchant for stand-up comedy. Star Rachel Brosnahan, who plays Midge, won a Golden Globe earlier this year for her performance.
Levi is set to play a Manhattan doctor who suddenly enters the Maisel circle.
The show has been picked up for a third season ahead of the premiere of Season two. The series comes from creators and executive producers Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino, who also write and direct.
Levi made his Broadway debut in the musical comedy First Date in 2013. He also voiced Flynn Rider in the Disney animated musical Tangled.
