Performances of The Last Match will begin September 28 ahead of an October 24 opening at the Laura Pels Theater at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre Off-Broadway. The run is scheduled through December 24.

The play sees two tennis champions face off for the match of their lives: the semifinals of the U.S. Open. One is Tim Porter, played by Bethel, the aging all-American favorite; the other is rising star Sergei Sergeyev, played by Mickiewicz.

“Set against the high-stakes backdrop of professional sports, The Last Match serves up a richly theatrical look at what keeps us striving and why,” read production notes from RTC.

The production will feature scenic design by Tim Mackabee, costume design by Montana Blanco, lighting design by Bradley King, and sound design by Bray Poor.

Tickets for The Last Match are available by calling (212) 719-1300, online at Roundabouttheatre.org, and in person at any Roundabout box office.
