Mayfield is the father of a family who recently moved from California to Hawkins, Indiana. The forthcoming season, which arrives October 31, will also feature Paul Reiser and Sean Astin in recurring roles. Danish actor Linnea Berthelsen is part of the new season as well.

Winona Ryder, David Harbour, and Finn Wolfhard are among the cast of the series; the first season focused on the disappearance of a young boy, mixing investigative drama with supernatural elements.
