Normally, we’d tell you to pay no attention to the man behind the curtain; but today we’re looking behind-the-scenes with Wicked fun facts. Over 11 million theatregoers have seen the show on Broadway in its 15-year run and approximately 20 million people have seen the musical on national tour. The original cast recording has sold nearly 4 million copies. Since its official opening at the Gershwin Theatre October 30, 2003, the musical with a book by Winnie Holzman, music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and direction by Joe Mantello has become a worldwide sensation.
