For the fourth year running, Tony nominee Norm Lewis will return to Feinstein’s/54 Below for his holiday residency—but this time he brings tunes from his newly released The Norm Lewis Christmas Album.

“I’ve always had a fantasy desire to do a Christmas album,” says Lewis. “Christmas has always been my favorite time of year and I wanted something to mark that.”

Before beginning his week of concerts at the famed Midtown cabaret venues (December 17–22), Lewis visited the Playbill studios to sing an unconventional Christmas melody: “My Favorite Things” from The Sound of Music.

“For me, I knew it from Sound of Music but what really stuck in my mind mostly was one of the first albums I could remember was The Supremes and they had that song on there, it was their Christmas album,” he says. “That’s one reason I put it in my show, it’s giving homage to that album.”

Watch the video above to hear the baritone belt out a jazzy version of the standard—and chat with Playbill about his album, Christmastime, and more.
