What Does My Fair Lady’s Raucous ‘Get Me to the Church On Time’ Look Like From the Stage?
Ensemble member Kerstin Anderson wears a go-pro for an inside look at the Broadway revival.
Broadway’s My Fair Lady recently pulled back the proverbial curtain to allow audiences a rare view of the production from the stage.
When the Tony-nominated revival from Lincoln Center Theater bowed at the Vivian Beaumont, audiences buzzed about the rowdy and impressive rendition of “Get Me to the Church On Time” sung by Alfred P. Doolittle.
Originated by Norbert Leo Butz and currently played by Danny Burstein, Doolittle is a poor man who comes into extreme wealth. Now, Doolittle must make an honest man of himself and marry the woman he’s been living with for years.

Choreographed by Tony winner Christopher Gattelli, the number is “Alfie Doolittle's last night of debauchery,” says Burstein, and the production captured the musical showstopper with an onstage go-pro. “The go-pro catches some of that spark.
“The go-pro will catch the insanity of the moment and also the little looks, the little asides, between people that you really can't see unless you're onstage with the actors,” Burstein continues.

Ensemble member Kerstin Anderson, who is also the alternate for Eliza Doolittle, wore the secret go-pro on her top hat during the number. “I think the number is equally as hard and as fun as it looks,” says Anderson.
Now, viewers will be able to see what she sees as they watch the video above.
