The London revival of Chicago celebrated its official opening April 11 at the Phoenix Theatre after beginning performances March 26. Leading the cast of the West End production are Cuba Gooding Jr. as Billy Flynn, Sarah Soetaert as Roxie, Josefina Gabrielle as Velma, Ruthie Henshall as Matron "Mama" Morton, and Paul Rider as Amos Hart.
Chicago originally ran in London for 15 years, making it the West End’s longest-running revival. Walter Bobbie, who helmed both the long-running Broadway and West End revivals, directs the current production.

The ensemble of Chicago at the Phoenix Theatre is made up of Alan Richardson, Michelle Antrobus, Natalie Bennyworth, Nicola Coates, Frances Dee, Zoe Gappy, Emma Harris, Chelsea Labadini, Joanna Rennie, Abramo Ciullo, Francis Foreman, Luke Jarvis, Matt Krzan, Charles Ruhrmund, Todd Talbot, Callum Macdonald, Chris Warner Drake, and Matthew Wesley.
Based on the play by Maurine Dallas Watkins, Chicago features a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander, and lyrics by Fred Ebb. The 1996 Broadway revival was choreographed by Ann Reinking in the style of Bob Fosse, directed by Bobbie, and produced by Barry and Fran Weissler.
