New York City Opera’s production of Angels in America officially opened June 10. The opera, which marks the conclusion of the company's 2016–2017 season, adapts Tony Kushner’s two-part Pulitzer Prize-winning drama into one two-act performance.

Angels in America's libretto lifts directly from Kushner's play and features orchestrations by Peter Eötvös (Cats’ Play), direction by Sam Helfrich. Pacien Mazzagatti conducts.

The limited engagement is scheduled to run June 14 and 16 at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Theater.
