What Disney Song Makes Darren Criss Cry Every Time? | Playbill

Video What Disney Song Makes Darren Criss Cry Every Time? Watch him sing with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show.

Darren Criss appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert August 9 to celebrate his recent Emmy nomination for The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.

The former Glee star played Andrew Cunanan in the Ryan Murphy limited series. This marks Criss’ second Emmy nomination; his first nomination came for the song “This Time,” which aired on Glee.

The actor-musician said that even today, he can often be found sitting behind a piano at the Hollywood piano bar he and his fiancée own together. Criss told Colbert that while visitors of all ages freak out when they hear the first few notes of “Piano Man” or “Tiny Dancer,” millennials go crazy for Disney songs.

That’s when Criss admitted that he can’t help but cry when he hears “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid—which prompted him and Colbert to sing it together. Watch the full interview and performance in the video above.

Criss has also performed on Broadway in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and Hedwig and the Angry Inch. He is the founder of Elsie Fest, the outdoor music festival the merges pop and Broadway.
