Ben Adams and Chris Wilkins' Eugenius! The Musical, which is currently playing London's The Other Palace through October 21, has canceled its previously reported transfer to the West End.

The '80s-inspired musical had been scheduled to play a limited engagement at the Ambassadors Theatre October 27–January 5, 2019.

The cancellation follows the withdrawal of a key investor from the production. Producer Kevin Wood said in a statement, "The past few days has been spent frantically trying to replace them, but time has run out. In the New Year we will take stock and come again. We have spent too much time and money on this project to just let it die."

The high-energy musical, directed by Ian Talbot, follows Eugene, a teenage comic book artist who finds himself creating a superhero movie in Hollywood alongside his two best friends. It first premiered at The Other Palace at the beginning of 2018 before its current return engagement, propelled by increasing online support from fans (known as Eugenies).

The production features choreography by Aaron Renfree, lighting by Andrew Ellis, sets and costumes by Hannah Wolfe, and sound design by Dan Samson. Paul Schofield serves as music director.
