The cast of Escape to Margaritaville took a break from tech February 14 to offer a taste of two familiar Jimmy Buffett tunes that appear in the musical. Check out “Volcano,” the show’s Act II opener led by Andre Ward about, appropriately, a volcano disrupting the nonchalance of an island resort, above.
The Christopher Ashley-directed production begins previews February 16 at the Marquis Theatre, having previously made its world premiere at La Jolla Playhouse and subsequently playing a three-city tour.
Leading the cast is Paul Alexander Nolan as Tully, a bartender and singer who reevaluates his carefree life upon meeting Rachel (Alison Luff), a scientist visiting the island paradise.
The production, which also features Eric Petersen, Lisa Howard, Rema Webb, and Don Sparks, will officially open March 15.Below, Nolan and Luff lead the company in a rendition of “A Pirate Looks at Forty.”
