In the third part of a video series celebrating the musical Come From Away, about a group of travelers whose planes were diverted to Gander, Newfoundland, during the events of 9/11, several Newfoundlanders and "Come From Aways" discuss having become a family over their shared experiences.
"It shows the kindness, the hospitality, the generosity, and the love that we found there," says Diane Marson, one of the passengers who found shelter in the people of Gander, in the video above. "That's really what I take from it."
"And that we're friends for life," adds Hannah O'Rourke, another passenger.
The acclaimed musical, which premiered on Broadway in spring 2017, made its New York debut after playing tryouts at La Jolla Playhouse, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Ford’s Theatre in Washington, D.C., and Toronto’s Royal Alexandra Theatre. The musical also recently opened at London's Phoenix Theatre as an additional sit-down engagement plays Toronto. It will make its Australian premiere this July in Melbourne.
