FX's limited series Fosse/Verdon, which follows the onstage and off-stage story of Broadway powerhouses Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon, comes to an end May 28. Watch the teaser for the final chapter above.
Titled “Providence,” the middle name of Fosse and Verdon's child Nicole (who is a co-executive producer on the series), the episode looks to come to a climax as Fosse is forced to reckon with the two lasting romances of his life: Verdon and Ann Reinking. The teaser also features a brief glimpse at scenes from the '80s revival of Sweet Charity; Fosse died suddenly in 1987, moments before he was scheduled to attend the Washington, D.C., opening of the musical.
Oscar winner Sam Rockwell and Oscar and Tony nominee Michelle Williams star as Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon, respectively, with several additional stage names playing Broadway luminaries in the exploration of the glitz, glam, and grit of theatre in the 1950s–1970s.
The series hails from executive producer Lin-Manuel Miranda, director (and Miranda's Hamilton cohort) Thomas Kail, Dear Evan Hansen scribe Steven Levenson (who also serves as showrunner).
