Watch Taylor Trensch and Telly Leung Sing ’Who Will Love Me As I Am?’ at Broadway Backwards | Playbill

Broadway Cares Watch Taylor Trensch and Telly Leung Sing ’Who Will Love Me As I Am?’ at Broadway Backwards The Dear Evan Hansen and Aladdin title players perform the Side Show anthem.
Taylor Trensch and Telly Leung, who currently star in the title roles of, respectively, Dear Evan Hansen and Aladdin, were among the numerous stage and screen stars who performed at the April 2 Broadway Backwards benefit—which allows performers a chance to defy gender norms by singing a number they traditionally would not have the opportunity to—at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.

In the video above, the two actors deliver a powerful version of Henry Krieger and Bill Russell’s Side Show anthem, “Who Will Love Me As I Am?” The song is performed in the musical by conjoined twins Daisy and Violet Hilton, the roles originally created on Broadway by Emily Skinner and Alice Ripley.

Creator Robert Bartley again directed the fundraiser with musical supervision by Mary-Mitchell Campbell and musical direction by Laura Bergquist. Choreography was created for the show by Bartley, Adam Roberts, and Chaz Wolcott.

Broadway Backwards 13 was produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS to benefit Broadway Cares and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center.
